YASCHICA WILLIAMS – Dr. Williams received her PhD from Western Michigan University. Her undergraduate and master’s degree were completed at the University of Alabama. Dr. Williams teaching interests are in the areas of juvenile delinquency, research methods, criminology, victimology and gender and crime. Her research interests include the effect of parenting on adolescent delinquency and sexual violence against women in war. She is the co-author of Media Images of Wartime Sexual Violence: Ethnic Cleansing in Rwanda and The Former Yugoslavia Republic forthcoming in an anthology on women, violence and the media to be published by Ohio State University Press. Dr. Williams has had prior experience in juvenile drug court evaluations and has volunteered as a hospital advocate for the Rape Crisis Center of Mobile, AL.
